Sandra Butcher - Owner/Director
Ms. Sandra Butcher established The Dance Academy in 1973 and has been teaching in the metro Atlanta area for over forty years. She was a charter member and a feature dancer of the Clayton Civic Ballet Company for many years.
Known to her students as "Ms. Sandra," she has toured throughout the southeastern United States with various performing groups. She studied in New York with well-known teachers such as Luigi, Joe Tremaine, Gus Giordano, Madame Messerer and Melissa Hayden.
Ms. Sandra is a member of Dance Educators of America, the Professional Dance Teachers Association and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.
Mission and Philosophy Statement
Our mission is to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment where your dance skills can be developed. The Dance Academy is dedicated to introducing the love, passion and discipline of the performing arts to all who wish to learn. With classes for all levels and ages ranging from three to one hundred and three, we teach engaging dance classes which develop the body, mind spirit. Our teaching style is very patient, personable and supportive. Each class is designed to introduce new steps while increasing body awareness, correct posture and form. We strive to make your dance experience with us educational and fun!
Our philosophy is that everyone can learn to dance. We believe that dance will improve your life physically, mentally and socially. We guarantee that you will enjoy learning to dance with our outstanding and supportive teachers and staff.
